Beard won on two sets of numbers.  He played the first set as a "straight," meaning his numbers had to match the numbers drawn in exact ordr to win $5,000. He played the second set of numbers as a "straiht/box," meaning his numbers could match the numbers drawn in any order or in exact order to win $2,600, totaling $7,600.
He purchased his winning ticket at Gentilly Spur on Gentilly Boulevard in New Orleans.
