Vacherie Woman Claims $120K Easy 5 Jackpot Prize

Baton Rouge – The jackpot winning Easy 5 ticket from the May 23 drawing was purchased by Dinah Chenier of Vacherie, who claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge on Thursday, May 28. Her ticket matched all five winning numbers — 06-08-12-26-27 — from the May 23 drawing. After state and federal tax withholdings, Chenier took home $87,601.46.

The ticket was sold at Wag-A-Pak II located at Highway 20 West in Vacherie.

Store Owner Amro Saeed expressed enthusiasm about the win and the ticket being sold from his store.

“We have a lot of loyal customers that try their luck daily, and it feels great that one of them can experience that feeling of winning big,” he said. “Stop by to purchase drinks and grocery items while also trying to be the next person to win big at our store with the Louisiana Lottery!”

Louisiana saw a record-breaking 11 Powerball wins of $1 million and $2 million from the April 29 drawing.

The Louisiana Lottery encourages all players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing to protect their claim. Winning tickets for draw-style games must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.
