Louisiana Retailers Sell Winning Easy 5 Tickets

BATON ROUGE – On October 7, La Express #7 in Port Allen and Go Bears #29 in Golden Meadow each sold Easy 5 jackpot-winning tickets, splitting the $230,000 prize.

The La Express ticket was claimed at Lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge on October 9 by Rodolfo Reyna, a Houston, Texas resident who has crossed state lines to play Louisiana Lottery games for nearly 13 years.

Reyna has won smaller prizes on Louisiana Lottery scratch-offs in the past, but this is his first big win. After the jackpot was split, and state and federal taxes withheld, Reyna took home $86,298.41 to put towards his retirement.

“Congratulations to Mr. Reyna on his big win,” said Rose Hudson, Lottery President. “Easy 5 offers players the best overall odds of any of our draw-style games, resulting in several wins and reasons to smile.”

The winning numbers for the October 7 drawing were 09-17-20-32-35.

The Louisiana Lottery encourages all players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing to protect their claim. Winning tickets for draw-style games must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.

To play Easy 5, participants must be at least 21 years of age. Individuals experiencing gambling-related problems, or those concerned about a friend or family member, are urged to call the Louisiana Problem Gamblers Helpline at 1-877-770-7867. Assistance is confidential and available 24/7.
