This summer has brought lots of Lottery luck for one Port Allen family! Beverly Navarre (right) won $12,000 playing Double Luck on Friday, just a month after her daughter-in-law, Mary Stewart, (left) won $1,000 playing $3 Bingo! Beverly said she didn't realize that her ticket was a winner and almost threw it in the trash, before a nearby clerk encouraged her to scan them at the terminal "just in case." The winning ticket was purchased at La Express #9 on Highway 415 in Port Allen. Beverly will soon have to have surgery on her knee, so she says this Lottery ticket came right on time. "God gave me the money to have my surgery!" she remarked.
