Rozell Felder wins $20,000 playing Break The Bank
Rozell Felder said he ordinarily buys one or two Louisiana Lottery scratch-off tickets on his morning commute. This week, his Monday morning turned out to be anything but ordinary; the 38-year-old Hammond resident won a $20,000 top prize on a $2 Break the Bank scratch-off ticket. “I saw the numbers slowly appear, and then I saw it was a winner and I just fell back in my chair,” Felder said. He received $14,000 after state and federal tax withholdings. Felder said he’s in the middle of a kitchen remodel, and he hopes to use some of the money to pay for those updates. Felder purchased his winning ticket at Miller’s Mart on West Club Deluxe Road in Hammond. Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Scratch-off prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the announced closure of the game. Scratch-off games are closed when all of the top prizes in a game have been claimed, when all of the tickets in a game have been substantially sold or at the discretion of the Lottery's president. For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing. More information about other scratch-off winners can be found on the Lottery’s website, www.louisianalottery.com.
