LOUISIANA LOTTERY REPORTS APRIL AND MAY WINNINGS

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Lottery Corporation has reported its monthly winnings for April and May. Players took home a total of $72,747,604 between the two months. 

In April, players won over $19 million in cash prizes from scratch-offs, over $24 million in winnings from draw games, and over $1 million from fast play games.  In May, Louisiana Lottery players won over $19 million in cash prizes from scratch-offs, over $7 million in winnings from draw games, and over $1 million from fast play games. 

April Winnings  

The Lottery’s daily game winnings increased in April, with Pick 5 winnings nearly doubling from March: 

Draw-Style Game Prizes 

  • Pick 3: $2,773,600 
  • Pick 4: $2,670,700 
  • Pick 5: $671,575 

April Powerball wins soared due to the April 29 drawing that produced six $1 million Powerball match-5 winning tickets and five $2 million Powerball match-5 + Power Play winning tickets. Powerball winnings totaled $16,720,068, with players who purchased the Power Play option winning $10,500,228 of the total sum. The $1 Power Play option gives Powerball players the chance to increase any non-jackpot prize.  

April Mega Millions drawings remained steady, producing $341,411 in winnings. 

Lotto’s monthly total winnings were $358,188, with 70 match-5 prizes won, equaling $70,000.  

Easy 5 total winnings came in at $797,529, thanks to a $450,000 jackpot-winning-ticket being sold during the April 11 drawing after having rolled for three months straight. Ezmatch™ wins, an instant-win option available for an additional $1, accounted for $91,061 of the overall total.  

In total, draw-style game winnings from drawings held in April totaled $24,333,071. 

Scratch-Off and Fast Play Prizes 
Scratch-off prizes paid in April reached $17,672,113, which included a $235,000 top-prize-winning It’s a Louisiana Thing! scratch-off sold in Covington; players also claimed $1,806,619 in free-ticket prizes. 

Players of the Lottery’s instant-win terminal fast play games saw $1,103,436 in winnings in April. 

May Winnings 

The Lottery’s daily game winnings were on par with that of April: 

Draw-Style Game Prizes 

  • Pick 3: $2,658,900 
  • Pick 4: $2,323,200 
  • Pick 5: $654,600 

May Powerball winnings totaled $624,514, with players who purchased the Power Play option winning $402,934 of the total sum. The $1 Power Play option gives Powerball players the chance to increase any non-jackpot prize.  

May Mega Millions drawings saw a slight bump from April, producing $501,635 in winnings. 

Lotto’s monthly total winnings were $384,334, with 62 match-5 prizes won, equaling $62,000.  

Easy 5 total winnings came in at $305,493, with ezmatch™ wins being $83,345 of the overall total. 

In total, draw-style game winnings from drawings held in May totaled $7,452,676. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the winnings from those tickets.   

Scratch-Off and Fast Play Prizes 
Scratch-off prizes paid in May reached $17,537,344, including a $500,000 top-prize-winning $500,000 Extreme Cash scratch-off sold in Baton Rouge. Players also claimed $1,778,772 in free-ticket prizes.  

Players of the Lottery’s instant-win terminal fast play games saw $1,063,573 in winnings in May.
