LOUISIANA LOTTERY REPORTS AUGUST WINNINGS

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana scratch-off players took home over $18 million in cash prizes in August, including a $135,000 winning Play Oh! ticket sold in LaPlace. Fast Play players also took home over $900,000 and draw game wins reached over $9 million in winnings.

The Lottery’s daily game saw big winnings in August.

Draw-Style Game Prizes

Pick 3: $3,431,600

Pick 4: $2,825,400

Pick 5: $647,675

The month’s Powerball wins reached a total of $1,471,759, largely due to a $1.04 billion jackpot hit on August 12 in Illinois. Louisiana saw a few big winners during the month, including a match-4 + PB with Power Play ticket worth $100,000 and two match-4 + PB with Power Play tickets worth $150,000. Players purchasing the Power Play option won $1,002,798 of the total sum. The $1 Power Play option gives Powerball players the chance to increase any non-jackpot prize.

August Mega Millions drawings produced $388,985 in winnings.

Lotto’s monthly total winnings were $618,962, with 127 match-5 prizes won, equaling $127,000.

Easy 5 total winnings came in at $260,191 with $85,033 of the total being won on ezmatch™, an instant-win option available for an additional $1.

In total, draw-style game winnings from drawings held in August totaled $9,729,605. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the winnings from those tickets.

The Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing and check them promptly after each drawing. Even if a ticket does not win the jackpot, it could win another prize.

Scratch-Off and Fast Play Prizes
In addition to the $16,512,241 in scratch-off cash prizes paid during August, players also claimed $1,676,424 in free-ticket prizes for a total of $18,188,665 in scratch-off winnings.

Players of the Lottery’s instant-win terminal Fast Play games saw $949,548 in winnings in August.

According to Lottery policy, scratch-off games are closed when all top prizes are claimed; scratch-off and Fast Play winning tickets can be claimed up to 90 days following the closure of the game.
