Edgard Convenience Store Worker Gets Boost for Retirement

Michael Doran of Edgard was shocked to discover the Louisiana Lottery Powerball ticket he purchased from Club Grocery on Highway 18, where he has worked for 15 years, would also be his ticket for future retirement.
A frequent Powerball player, Doran won a whopping $150,024 on a multiboard ticket for the March 20 drawing. On one line he matched four white-ball numbers plus the red Powerball number to win $50,000. On another line he matched one white-ball number plus the Powerball and on a third line he matched just the Powerball number to win $4 apiece. However, because Doran added the Power Play option to his ticket, he won three times those prizes when the Power Play number 3X was selected during the drawing!
"I can't believe it, what a blessing!" Doran said.
Besides saving for retirement, he said he is excited to buy his family gifts and contribute to his grandchildren’s education, noting that this win is “a chance at life-changing financial security.”
Powerball is a multistate game that offer players the chance to win multimillion-dollar jackpot prizes for matching all six numbers or eight other prize levels for different matching combinations. Power Play is a ticket add-on option available for an additional $1 per play that allows players to increase any nonjackpot prize won up to $2 million.
Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
