BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Lottery players won more than $13.8 million in prizes in January, highlighted by one player who won a $450,000 Lotto jackpot and three players who each won $200,000 on Powerball.

President Randy Davis said there were over $6.3 million in Louisiana Powerball, Lotto, Cash Quest, Pick 4 and Pick 3 winnings and over $7.5 million in scratch-off game winnings last month.

January's winners also included 15 Powerball tickets for $10,000 each, 103 Lotto tickets averaging $2,268 each, two Cash Quest jackpot tickets for $50,000 each and one Cash Quest ticket for $3,000.  Pick 3 winners won a total of $1,794,120 and Pick 4 winners won a total of $1,186,500.

"Last month over 20,000 Power Play purchasers won a bonus total of $353,132 in addition to their regular Powerball prize total of $133,026.  This included four tickets averaging $40,000 each," Davis said.

The Power Play option offers Powerball ticket purchasers the chance to multiply their winnings up to five times on all non-jackpot prizes for an additional $1. "With the match-5 prize doubled now to $200,000, Power Play can produce more million-dollar winners," he added.

Davis reminded ticket purchasers to play responsibly, encouraging anyone who has a gambling problem, or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem, to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.  Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.
