Louisiana Lottery Earns World Lottery Association Level 2 Certification for Responsible Gaming

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Lottery Corporation announced it has been awarded Level 2 Certification under the World Lottery Association’s (WLA) Responsible Gaming Framework, recognizing the organization’s programs and policies to promote safe and responsible play.

The certification follows a comprehensive independent assessment of the Lottery’s responsible gaming initiatives, including measures to prevent underage participation, identify and mitigate gaming-related risks, and educate players and employees on responsible play. Lottery organizations that meet the standards of the WLA Responsible Gaming Framework are awarded Level 2 status, placing Louisiana Lottery among a select group of lottery operators worldwide recognized for this commitment.

“Achieving WLA Level 2 Certification reflects the seriousness with which we approach our responsibility to the players and communities we serve,” said Rose Hudson, President of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation. “This recognition belongs to every Louisiana Lottery employee and retailer who has helped build a culture of responsible play in Louisiana.”

Following the assessment that led to this certification, the Lottery is continuing to build its responsible gaming program across the organization. That work includes expanded training for employees and retailers and enhanced resources for players with responsible gaming considerations also being built into game development, marketing, and research.

“This certification is a milestone, not a finish line,” said Hudson. “Our next focus is making sure responsible gaming is built into every part of how we operate, from our employees and retailers to how we design and market our games, not limited to a single team or program.”

Louisiana Lottery said it will continue building on this foundation as it works toward higher levels of WLA certification in the future.
