Four More Winners Step Forward in Historic Louisiana Powerball Drawing

BATON ROUGE – Four more winners have come forward to claim their prizes following the record-breaking April 29 Powerball drawing that left Louisiana with eleven million-dollar-plus winning tickets. 

Dean Francis of Denham Springs claimed his $1 million prize at Lottery headquarters on Thursday, May 7, taking home $730,000 after state and federal tax withholdings.  

He purchased his ticket from RaceTrac #2569, located at 27877 Juban Road in Denham Springs.  

On Monday morning, May 11, Karla Browning of Baton Rouge claimed her $2 million prize after purchasing her ticket from Circle K #9723, located at 4851 O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge. She took home $1,460,005.84 after state and federal tax withholdings. 

That same afternoon, Kimberly Horton of Shreveport claimed her $2 million prize at Lottery headquarters, taking home $1,460,000 after state and federal tax withholdings.  

She purchased her ticket from Raceway 6802, located at 3701 Hearne Avenue in Shreveport. 

On Tuesday, May 12, Jacquelyn Green of Alexandria claimed her $2 million Powerball prize and took home $1,460,005.84 after state and federal tax withholdings.  

She purchased her ticket from Tobacco Plus #16 located at 2140 North Mall Drive in Alexandria. 

 “Congratulations to each of these winners. Together they represent millions of dollars won right here in Louisiana,” said Louisiana Lottery President Rose Hudson. “We still have three unclaimed winning tickets from this historic drawing, and we urge those holders to sign the backs of their tickets immediately to protect their claim. We can’t wait to meet them and celebrate their wins.” 

Winning tickets for draw-style games must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date. 

To play Powerball, participants must be at least 21 years of age. Individuals experiencing gambling-related problems, or those concerned about a friend or family member, are urged to call the Louisiana Problem Gamblers Helpline at 1-877-770-7867. Assistance is free, confidential, and available 24/7.
