Louisiana Lottery Hunts for Sales with Louisiana Sportsman Magazine Partnership
"The Louisiana Sportsman brand has wide appeal in all market segments from anglers to hunters to those who love all that makes Louisiana a sportsman's paradise," noted Lottery President Rose Hudson. "We're extremely pleased to be partnering with another successful, local business in producing a game that we think players will find exciting."
Louisiana Sportsman strategically features a series of designs targeted to appeal to more than just the avid hunter. Scenes include swamp and forest backdrops as well as the Louisiana wildlife photography of John Ford. The Louisiana Sportsman logo is prominently situated on each ticket in green, hunter orange and pink.
"Our fleur-de-lis logo has enjoyed wild popularity among outdoor enthusiasts," said Louisiana Publishing President Tony Taylor. "We're confident this alliance with the Lottery will increase brand awareness at retail locations where our products are already being sold. It's a sure shot for our marketing efforts."
Sold in nearly 1,900 retail outlets, 90 percent of which are convenience and groceries stores, Louisiana Sportsman Magazine also boasts more than 20,000 monthly paid subscribers. The color magazine is published by Louisiana Publishing, which is headquartered in Boutte, La. The company also produces similar publications in Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Louisiana Sportsman will debut at the Louisiana Outdoor Expo in Lafayette, July 27-29. Visitors to the Lottery's promotional booth during the expo will have the chance to participate in promotional giveaways and be the first to purchase the new scratch-off game.
To provide added value for players and support the game's awareness, the Lottery will conduct consumer-oriented promotions for its players club, Facebook fans and Twitter followers. Winners will receive a "Louisiana Sportsman Survival Kit" which will include $10 worth of Louisiana Sportsman scratch-off tickets, a Lottery ice chest, camo koozie, sunglass strap and fishing lure, as well as a Louisiana Sportsman T-shirt, insulated tumbler, license plate, logo decal, camouflage cap, bright bottle koozie and gift certificate subscription to Louisiana Sportsman Magazine.
"There's no question that Louisiana-themed games are player favorites," explained Hudson. "By promoting Louisiana brands in what we do, we're supporting our state's unique cultural economy while simultaneously fulfilling our mission to maximize revenue for K-12 public education."
The Louisiana Lottery reminds players to play responsibility and that you must be at least 21 to purchase. Those with gambling problems are encouraged to call the Problem Gambling Helpline at 877-760-7867 for assistance.
