Flora A. Johnson and Sandra Norris, both of Alexandria, are $30,000 richer after each woman claimed a top prize from the Lottery's $3 Double Bingo scratch-off in the same week.

"I decided to buy three scratch-off tickets while I waited for a fresh pot of coffee to brew," explained Johnson, age 49.  "I scratched them off in the store and then told the clerk 'I think I won!'"

Johnson shared that she always buys the Lottery's bingo-style scratch-offs because she loves playing bingo.  She plans to use her winnings to purchase a new car and hopes to also treat herself to a new computer.

Norris, age 54, also shares Johnson's love of scratch-offs and has been a regular scratch-off player for years.  She was so excited about her big win that she brought her entire family with her to the Lottery's Alexandria office to claim her winnings.

"I really couldn't believe I won," explained a still-shocked Norris.  "I had to keep checking the ticket before I believed it."

Johnson purchased her winning scratch-off from Texaco Jackson on Jackson Street Extension and Norris purchased her top prize winning ticket from King City # 2 on Lee Street.  Both stores are located in Alexandria.

Double Bingo is a $3 game that features over $2.2 million in cash prizes. The game has two $30,000 top prizes remaining as of Feb 16.
