Jeffrey Sheridan of Ruston is having the kind of week that he won't soon forget.  After discovering that he is going to be a father, the good fortune continued when he claimed a $4,000 top prize on the Lottery's Hot Dice scratch-off.

"At first I really doubted if I even won," explained Sheridan, age 22.  "Now that I know for sure, I'm more relieved than I am excited."

The Louisiana Tech University student said he plans to put his winnings in savings right now and spend the money on his new baby when it arrives.

Sheridan purchased his winning scratch-off from Expressway #689 on North Service Road West in Ruston.

Hot Dice is a $1 game that features four chances to win on each ticket. The game has five $4,000 top prizes remaining as of Feb. 4.
