When Gary Worsham of New Iberia got caught up in the excitement of a recent New Orleans Saints game, he forgot all about the Louisiana Lottery scratch-off tickets he bought for his party guests.  Later, when Worsham remembered about the tickets, he scratched them himself revealing a $5,000 top prize from a $1 Winfall scratch-off.

"My wife and I originally bought several scratch-off tickets to hand out as gifts during a Saints game party at our house, but we forgot to hand them out," said Worsham.  "My wife said our win was just meant to be!"

An excited Worsham said he plans to use his winnings to purchase a new big screen television that he and his wife have been wanting.

Worsham purchased his winning ticket at M/M Shop #1 on East Admiral Doyle in New Iberia.

Winfall is a $1 scratch-off game that offers players the chance to win up to $5,000. With four chances to win on each ticket, the game has five remaining top prizes as of Dec. 21.

According to Louisiana Lottery policy, a scratch-off game is closed and removed from sale when all of the top prizes for the game have been claimed. Winners have 90 days from the game closure date in which to claim their winnings.
