As of today, no one has stepped forward to claim a $1 million Powerball prize won on April 29. The winning ticket was purchased at New Excel on Jonesboro Road in West Monroe and is set to expire Oct. 26.

The Powerball ticket matched all five white ball numbers drawn and included the Power Play option. The winning numbers for the April 29 drawing were 6-19-36-50-59 and the Powerball number was 13. For an additional $1 per play, Powerball players can purchase the Power Play option to multiply any nonjackpot prize up to five times, depending upon the Power Play number randomly selected during the drawing. The 5X multiplier is automatically applied to "match-5" prizes, when the Power Play option is purchased, resulting in a $1 million prize.

The holder of the winning ticket has until 5 p.m. on the date of expiration to claim the prize, which is subject to applicable federal and state tax withholdings. Powerball prizes greater than $510,000 must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge.

"We look forward to the winner coming forward to claim this prize. In the meantime, the individual should treat the ticket as cash," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "It is also a good idea to sign the back of the ticket for security purposes."

Winners of the Lottery's draw-style games must claim their prize within 180 days of the drawing. After prizes have passed their redemption deadlines, they are deposited into the Lottery's unclaimed prize fund, which is returned to players in the form of increased payouts on scratch-off games and player promotions. The largest unclaimed Louisiana Lottery prize was a $2 million Lotto jackpot from the June 12 drawing in 1993.

Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. The Lottery encourages responsible play and urges anyone or friends of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help. A list of large unclaimed prizes set to expire in the next 90 days can be found on the Lottery's Web site at www.louisianalottery.com/unclaimedprizes.
