BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Lottery players won over $7.4 million in prizes in September, highlighted by the first $200,000 match-5 winner since the Powerball matrix change on Aug. 28.

President Randy Davis said there were over $3.5 million in Louisiana Powerball, Lotto, Cash Quest, Pick 4 and Pick 3 winnings and over $3.9 million in scratch-off game winnings last month.

September's winners also included five Powerball tickets for $10,000 each, 79 Lotto tickets averaging $1,932 each, one Cash Quest jackpot ticket for $50,000 and one Cash Quest ticket for $3,000.  Pick 3 winners won a total of $1,290,810 and Pick 4 winners won a total of $801,800.

"Last month nearly 11,000 Power Play purchasers won a bonus total of $138,237 in addition to their regular Powerball prize total of $58,562. This included our first $200,000 winner since the matrix change," Davis said.

The Power Play option offers Powerball ticket purchasers the chance to multiply their winnings up to five times on all prizes excluding the jackpot for an additional $1. "With the match-5 prize doubled now to $200,000, Power Play will mean more million-dollar winners," he added.

Davis reminded ticket purchasers to play responsibly, encouraging anyone who has a gambling problem, or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem, to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.  Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.
