West Monroe Woman Claims $10,000 Top Prize from Gobbler Gold Scratch-off

Martha Sticker of West Monroe has her daughter to thank for winning the last $10,000 top prize from a Gobbler Gold scratch-off, which she claimed at the Louisiana Lottery's Monroe regional office.
"My daughter bought Gobbler Gold tickets for me, herself and her brother," said Sticker. "My ticket turned out to be the winner, but I didn't think it was a winner until she looked at it!"
Sticker said her immediate plans were trying "not to faint before going to the bank." She purchased her winning ticket from Cypress Street U-Pak-It on Cypress Street in West Monroe. According to Louisiana Lottery policy, a scratch-off game is closed and removed from sale when all top prizes for the game have been claimed. All top prizes from Gobbler Gold have been claimed, and the game closed Dec. 16. The last day to redeem prizes from the game is April 15, 2009. Players must be at least 21 years old to purchase a Lottery ticket. The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help. For security purposes, the Lottery also encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
