While it is common to go to the store to buy a Sunday newspaper, it is not so common to win $10,000 in the process; however, that's exactly what happened to Pamela Arvie of Baton Rouge when she played Hit $100, a $2 scratch-off from the Louisiana Lottery.

"I stopped to get the Sunday paper and something told me to buy a ticket," explained Arvie, age 25. "It was the first scratch-off I've ever bought and it was a winner!"

Arvie purchased her winning scratch-off from Circle K #3772 on Evangeline Street in Baton Rouge.

Hit $100 offers players the chance to win up to 10 times on each ticket. The game has two remaining top prizes of $10,000 as of Sept. 29.

According to Louisiana Lottery policy, a scratch-off game is closed and removed from sale when all top prizes in the game have been claimed. Winners have 90 days from the game closure date in which to claim their prize.

Players must be at least 21 years old to purchase a Lottery ticket.  The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
