Oscar Menard of Scott claimed a $100,000 top prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's Lafayette office from a Break the Bank scratch-off ticket.

Menard purchased his winning ticket at M/M Shop #2 on Johnston Street in Lafayette.

"I couldn't believe it!," he exclaimed.  "My wife is so happy she's been crying all morning."  Menard, age 50, said that he and his wife, Lisa, had applied for a loan to buy a bike shop.  "I told her that I wanted to do three things first; I want to give some money to her brother Lennis Broussard, then I want to enclose my mother's porch so she doesn't have to sit in the sun anymore, and finally, I want to put granite on her mother's tomb so they don't have to struggle to maintain it anymore," he said.  "I told her she could have the rest for the bike shop."
