Commemorating its 30th Anniversary, the Lottery Celebrates National Lottery Week July 12-16

The Louisiana Lottery will join other lotteries across the country in celebrating National Lottery Week July 12-16 to spotlight the different ways lotteries benefit the state, local businesses, the economy, our communities and of course, winners.
To kick off the observance on Monday, the Lottery will highlight contributions made to its key beneficiary, K-12 public education, by demonstrating the recent growth in contributions since 2004.
“As we embark on our 30th anniversary celebration, the Lottery is also finalizing our year-end financials, and fully expects to end our best year ever with $210 million in contributions to public education,” noted Lottery President Rose Hudson. “What a fantastic way to kick off National Lottery Week 2021!”
On Tuesday, the focus will shift to the Lottery’s responsible gaming efforts featuring a video interview with Janet Miller from the Louisiana Association on Compulsive Gaming (LACG) on ways to spot problem gambling and how to get help.
Wednesday will be dedicated to all Lottery retailers, some 3,000 local businesses who sell Lottery products and provide related services, such as cashing players’ winning tickets, explaining new games and posting winner flyers. The Lottery plans to spotlight several retailers throughout the state on its social media pages and share their stories of what the Lottery’s partnership has done for their businesses.
Thursday will be all about Lottery winners, from jackpots to scratch-off prizes, as well as winners of second-chance drawings and special promotions.
Then on Friday, the Lottery will give its fans and players a “Reason to Smile” with the opportunity to enter a web-based promotion of the same name. Eligible participants are invited to visit the Lottery’s website to answer five questions that will be based on information given each day of Lottery Week. Participants who answer all five trivia questions correctly will be entered into a drawing to win one of 10 prize packages that includes a Lottery T-shirt, beach towel, personal fan, stadium cup, duffle bag and one of each of the Lottery new 30th anniversary collection of Multiplier scratch-offs.
The Multiplier Family of scratch-offs will launch on July 12, the first day of Lottery Week, and will commemorate the Lottery’s 30th anniversary. The launch includes $1 5X The Cash, $2 10X The Cash, $3 Xtreme Crossword, $5 30X The Cash, and $10 50X The Cash with instant prizes of up to $200,000.
Players can follow the Lottery’s social media pages and visit the Lottery’s website for more information and Lottery Week trivia answers.
The Lottery reminds ticket purchasers to play responsibly, encouraging anyone who has a gambling problem, or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem, to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help. Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.
