One of the two Louisiana ticket holders who correctly matched the five white ball numbers drawn from the Powerball drawing on March 3 has claimed $200,000 from the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's New Orleans office.
Carmen R. Sumlin, a resident of Kenner, purchased her winning ticket at Big Man's Discount on Jefferson Highway Unit A in River Ridge. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus or one percent of the total Match 5 prize for selling the winning ticket.
"I am still in shock," said Sumlin, age 45. "You just have to keep playing to win."
Persons must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a Lottery ticket. The Lottery also encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
