Shreveport Man Wins $1 Million Mega Millions Prize
BATON ROUGE -- One lucky Louisiana Lottery player matched five of the six Mega Millions numbers in the Sept. 24 drawing to win $1 million; Walter Autry of Shreveport claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
He purchased his ticket from Circle K #8179 on Pines Road in Shreveport and took home $717,500 after state and federal tax withholdings. That store will receive a selling bonus of $10,000, which is 1% of the prize. The winning numbers for the Sept. 24 drawing were 01-06-10-23-27 and the Mega Ball was 18.
“I hope the winner is one of our regular customers!” said Store Manager Felicia Thornton. Thornton and her team were buzzing with excitement over the news of a customer purchasing a winning match-5 ticket at their location.
Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
