One Lake Charles man got a scary good surprise right before Halloween when he found out he won the Louisiana Lottery Lotto jackpot for the Oct. 30 drawing.

Terrell Joseph Sr. won $1,322,298 after the ticket he purchased at More Four Less #15 on Ryan Street in Lake Charles matched all six numbers drawn. He claimed the prize last week at Lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge.

Store Owner Ashraf Ali said that he and his staff were excited to learn they had sold the jackpot-winning ticket.

“My hand was shaking!” he exclaimed. “We never got that much in commission before; it covered some of our expenses.”  This was the retailer’s first time selling a million-dollar winning ticket, earning the store a 1% bonus of $13,222.98 from the Lottery.

Ali, along with the entire team at More Four Less #15, are happy for Mr. Joseph on his win.

The winning numbers for the Oct. 30 Lotto drawing were 11-16-18-22-32-35.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing. More information about Lotto and other jackpot winners can be found on the Lottery’s website, www.louisianalottery.com/lotto.
