Bryan Cureington has a reason to smile – and to breathe a sigh of relief – after almost throwing out a winning Louisiana Lottery ticket worth $200,000!
A family member of the Monroe resident scratched the $10 ticket Make My Year for him, then threw it in the trash, thinking it wasn’t a winner. Fortunately, Cureington pulled the ticket out of the garbage to double check it. The ticket, purchased at local store Muse Food Mart, won the first of the game’s four top prizes to be claimed!
The 35-year-old received $142,000 after state and federal tax withholdings.
The Make My Year scratch-off is one of an exciting family of games. The $1 scratch-off, Make My Day has a top prize of $5,000; the $2 ticket Make My Week has prizes up to $20,000; and the $5 ticket Make My Month yields prizes up to $100,000!
