Harvey Resident Claims $10,000 Powerball Prize

Darren Flick of Harvey had a reason to smile after he claimed a $10,000 Powerball prize at the Lottery's New Orleans office.

"I was shocked," said Flick.  "I looked at my ticket a couple of times to make sure it was a winner."

Flick's ticket matched four of the white ball numbers drawn and the red Powerball number to win $10,000. The winning numbers for the Oct. 9 Powerball drawing were 02-06-32-42-49 and the Powerball number was 35.

Flick, age 42, purchased his winning ticket from Brothers Food Mart #125 on LaPalco Boulevard in Harvey.  He plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. The Lottery encourages anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
