New Orleans Resident Claims Shamrock Green Top Prize

For Richard G. Ladlee Sr. of New Orleans, it paid to have a "plan B." The Lottery scratch-off game that Ladlee wanted to purchase wasn't available at his local retailer, so he chose Shamrock Green instead and won a $10,000 top prize. 

"It's an unexpected blessing!" Ladlee exclaimed.

Ladlee, age 62, purchased his winning ticket at Spur Discount Corner on South Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans. He plans to use his winning for moving expenses. 

Shamrock Green is the Lottery's latest $2 scratch-off game  It has five top prizes of $10,000 remaining as of Feb. 12 and offers players the chance to win up to 10 times.
