Margie N. Whittington of Ville Platte claimed $10,000 at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's Lafayette office as a result of a winning Powerball ticket from the May 23 drawing.

"This is so much fun!" said Whittington, age 66.  She purchased her winning ticket at Country Cove on Tate Cove Road in Ville Platte.  Whittington, who plans to use her winnings to go on a vacation, said she previously won $50 from the Lottery's first scratch-off, Louisiana Treasures.

Whittington's ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers plus the Powerball number to win her prize. The winning numbers for the May 23 Powerball drawing were 3-11-24-36-38 and the Powerball number was 6.
