New Orleans Area Residents Win Big Playing Powerball
Michael A. Cieutat of Metairie claimed a $200,000 prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's New Orleans office as a result of a winning Powerball ticket from the May 23 drawing.
"This is wonderful!" said Cieutat, age 57.
Cieutat's ticket matched all five white balls drawn to win his prize. He purchased his winning ticket at Comeaux Grocery on Bridge City Avenue in Bridge City.
Jason G. Campbell of Slidell claimed a $10,000 prize at the New Orleans office also as a result of a winning Powerball ticket from the May 23 drawing.
"It's awesome to win," he said. Campbell, 40, purchased his winning ticket at Riverside Travel Center on Pump Slough Road in Pearl River.
Campbell's ticket matched four white balls drawn plus the red Powerball to win his prize.
The winning numbers for the May 23 Powerball drawing were 3-11-24-36-38 and the Powerball number was 6. Both Cieutat and Campbell purchased their tickets as "quick picks," meaning the Lottery terminal randomly selected their numbers. Interestingly, they both plan to share their winnings with 17 coworkers.
