Carlos Case was delighted to match three Lotto numbers during last Saturday's drawing but decided not to cash his $3 prize until seeing if his multi-draw ticket for the next drawing on Wednesday would pay off.  That time, he matched all six numbers to win the jackpot of $727,138.73. He claimed both prizes today at the Louisiana Lottery's headquarters in Baton Rouge with his wife, son and daughter-in-law.

"I had to keep checking the numbers on the internet to be sure," said the retired oilfield worker from Brookhaven, Miss. He said he's played Lotto since the game began in 1992, but never believed he would win more than $500.
Case said he plans to use the money to help his children and grandchildren. "There's nothing much I need," he said.

He received $508,999.21 after state and federal income taxes were withheld. Case's son, Brian Case, purchased the winning ticket for his dad at M&J Grocery on Highway 67 in Norwood, which will receive a one-time bonus of $7,271, or 1 percent of the jackpot.

The winning numbers for the June 21 Lotto drawing were 13-16-26-28-32-36.  Over 8,500 other Lotto players also won prizes, including 9 players who won $3,234 each.
