Breaux Bridge Resident Claims Top Prize on Break the Bank

Douglas Champagne of Breaux Bridge claimed a $100,000 top prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's Lafayette office from a Break the Bank scratch-off ticket.
Champagne purchased his winning ticket at Tobacco Plus #6 on W. Pinhook Road in Lafayette.
"I can't believe it!," he exclaimed. "I plan to enjoy spending this money." Champagne, age 52, said that he previously won $3,000 from a scratch-off ticket in 2006.
Champagne is the first top prize winner from the $5 scratch-off game which launched March 12. Break the Bank offers four remaining top prizes as of April 13, over $3 million in cash prizes and the chance to win up to 15 times.
