Ernest William Penn of Loranger claimed a $100,000 top prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's New Orleans office from a $100,000 Hold 'Em Poker® scratch-off ticket.

Penn purchased his winning ticket at Saia's Supermarket on Highway 25 in Folsom.  "It's great!  I chose this game because I like to play poker," he explained.  "I'm going to keep playing!"  He also said he plans to take a trip and put the rest of his winnings in savings.

Penn is the first top instant prize winner since the game launched on July 31.  The $5 scratch-off game $100,000 Hold 'Em Poker® features five deals on each ticket; six top prizes of $100,000; 27,000 prizes from $21 to $2,100; and 1:3.79 overall odds of winning a prize.

Players who do not win an instant prize can enter a second-chance drawing by mailing in one nonwinning $100,000 Hold 'Em Poker® ticket per envelope, no larger than 4.5" x 9.5", to the designated drawing address on the back of the ticket.  Brochures are also available at all Lottery retailers with a pre-addressed envelope attached.

The entry makes players eligible to win a World Poker Tour® Merchandise Package or the ultimate poker experience, a seat at a real World Poker Tour® Tournament!

Entries must be received by Sep. 15 in order to qualify for the first drawing, which will occur within seven days of the deadline.

The game, prize packs and trips are offered to players through an exclusive agreement with the Louisiana Lottery and MDI Entertainment.

Lottery ticket purchasers and World Poker Tour® tournament participants must be at least 21 years old. The Lottery also reminds players that anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem are encouraged to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
