Louisiana Lottery players won more than $16.2 million in prizes in December, highlighted by one player who won a $2.1 million Lotto jackpot and another who won $200,000 on Powerball.

President Rose Hudson said there was nearly $8 million in Louisiana Powerball, Lotto, Cash Quest, Pick 4 and Pick 3 winnings and over $8.2 million in scratch-off game winnings last month.

December's winners also included six Powerball tickets for $10,000 each, 181 Lotto tickets averaging $1,887 each and three Cash Quest jackpot tickets for $50,000 each.  Pick 3 winners won a total of $1,893,930 and Pick 4 winners won a total of $1,177,700.

"Last month over 23,000 Power Play purchasers won a bonus total of $430,603 in addition to their regular Powerball prize total of $141,609.  This included four players who each won $40,000," Hudson said.

The Power Play option offers Powerball ticket purchasers the chance to multiply their winnings up to five times on all non-jackpot prizes for an additional $1.

Hudson reminded ticket purchasers to play responsibly, encouraging anyone who has a gambling problem, or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem, to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.  Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.
