For the first time since the game began in January 1992, the Lotto jackpot has been hit seven times in seven weeks. Christopher McGee of Fort Polk, the most recent in this phenomenal streak of winners, claimed his jackpot prize of $275,000 from the Aug. 9 drawing.

"Lotto is the hot game to play," exclaimed Bonny Botts, marketing and public relations vice president for the Lottery. "It's been exciting and rewarding to welcome such a string of big-money winners."

McGee received $192,500 after state and federal income tax withholdings.  He purchased his winning ticket at Rainbow Mini Mart on Carter Street in Vidalia.  The store will receive a one-time bonus of $2,750, or 1 percent of the jackpot.

The winning numbers for the Aug. 9 Lotto drawing were 4-13-16-19-36-37.  More than 7,000 other Lotto players also won prizes, including seven players who won $3,449 each.
