Verna James will be returning from her visit to Louisiana, $30,000 wealthier! The Columbus, Georgia resident was visiting her brother, Herbert, when she decided to buy a $30,000 Crossword ticket, which won the top-prize! "I knew it was something big when the girl at the store said to sign the back of the ticket," Verna explained. 

The winner purchased her exciting ticket at Miller's Mart in Hammond. When asked what she plans to do with her new dough, Verna replied with a simple "spend it!… and give my brother some money."
