"It didn't register at first," winner Valeri Moree explained of her winning moment, "then I just started screaming in the store." Valeri won $30,000 playing Silver and Gold Crossword! The Denham Springs resident said she enjoys playing crossword-styled scratch-offs and decided to take a chance on the newest $3 game, while collecting $5 she won from a previous ticket. 

Valeri's boyfriend Kevin Ardoin arrived just in time to see his girlfriend's winning moment! He had gotten off of work early and decided to stop at Best Stop Quick Mart #3 when he saw Valeri's car in the parking lot. "I got there just as she was scratching the last two numbers." 

Valeri and Kevin plan to put the windfall toward purchasing a new home. "We always said we would get a place if we ever win the Lottery," Kevin said. Congratulations!
