Most people hope for a nice gift on their birthday. Crystal Burkins of Walker got a winning one!

On October 6, Crystal visited Louisiana Lottery headquarters to claim a $2,600 Pick 4 prize, and the timing couldn’t have been better. She was celebrating her birthday that same day, making the trip to collect her winnings an extra-special part of the celebration.

Crystal wasn’t alone for the occasion. She was joined by her husband and brother-in-law, both of whom played a part in the story behind the win. Crystal and her husband are dedicated players who buy Quick Picks every night, and lately their routine has been paying off. Just last week, the couple won on Pick 3, and now they’ve followed it up with a Pick 4 win.
While her winning numbers were randomly generated as a Quick Pick, they carried a special meaning once the results came in: the numbers happened to match her brother-in-law’s birthday. It was a lucky coincidence that made the win feel like a true family affair, and fitting, since the whole group came along to share in the moment.

To celebrate, Crystal is treating everyone to lunch. As for the rest of her prize, she says she hasn’t made any firm plans yet, but she’ll probably put some of it back into playing in hopes of keeping her winning streak alive.

Between a birthday, a brother-in-law’s lucky numbers, and back-to-back wins, it’s been quite a week for the Burkins family.
