Everette O. Jack of Morgan City was looking for "something out of the ordinary" when he selected a $2 Let the Good Times Roll Louisiana Lottery scratch-off ticket, and that was exactly what he got when he won a $12,000 top prize on the ticket.

"I was looking for a new game to play, and the jazz scene on the ticket caught my eye," said Jack, age 30.  "I have been working in the New Orleans area a lot lately, so I thought 'why not!'"  Jack said he plans to use his winnings to take his children shopping.

Let the Good Times Roll is one of the two scratch-offs the Lottery launched for the Mardi Gras season.  The game features the original artwork of New Orleans artist Darrin Butler, winner of the "Louisiana JAZZ Visual Arts Competition" that was sponsored by the Lieutenant Governors Office and the Louisiana Department of Culture Recreation and Tourism.

Jack purchased his winning ticket at Roy Quality Foods on East Main Street in Hessmer.
