BATON ROUGE – A Monroe resident won $150,000 during the January 31 Powerball drawing. Kindling Seaberry matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball number; he also purchased the Power Play option for an extra $1, which tripled his winnings.
He purchased his ticket from Now Save #2, located at 2828 Winnsboro Road in Monroe. He claimed his prize at the Lottery’s Monroe regional office on Monday, February 2, where he took home $109,500 after state and federal tax withholdings.
“A huge congratulations to Mr. Seaberry on this huge win!” said Rose Hudson, Lottery President. “We’re always happy to see a Louisianan win big on this multistate game.”
The winning numbers for the January 31 drawing were 02-08-14-40-63, and the Powerball number was 23.
The Louisiana Lottery encourages all players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing to protect their claim. Winning tickets for draw-style games must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.
To play Powerball, participants must be at least 21 years of age. Individuals experiencing gambling-related problems, or those concerned about a friend or family member, are urged to call the Louisiana Problem Gamblers Helpline at 1-877-770-7867. Assistance is confidential and available 24/7.
