BATON ROUGE – The Lotto jackpot was hit for the second time this month after a Monroe man matched all 6 Lotto numbers for the January 14 drawing.

Cody Blackmon purchased his winning ticket from Jonesy’s Trak, located at 6216 Highway 4 in Winnsboro. He claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters on Friday, January 16, where he took home $401,500 after state and federal tax withholdings.

Blackmon enjoys playing Lotto and Easy 5, though before this win he’d only taken home “a little cash.”

“We’re excited to see yet another one of our players start off the year with a huge reason to smile,” said Rose Hudson, Lottery President. “We wish Mr. Blackmon and his family all the best as they enjoy this Lotto jackpot win.”

The winning numbers for the January 14 drawing were 02-10-17-27-28-41.

Blackmon says he plans to use his winnings on home improvements and will put some away for his savings.

The Louisiana Lottery encourages all players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchase to protect their claim. Winning tickets for draw-style games must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.

To play Lotto, participants must be at least 21 years of age. Individuals experiencing gambling-related problems, or those concerned about a friend or family member, are urged to call the Louisiana Problem Gamblers Helpline at 1-877-770-7867. Assistance is confidential and available 24/7.
