It’s Mardi Gras season, and that means one thing in Louisiana: king cake debates are in full swing!

The Louisiana Lottery is inviting you to join the fun in the Great King Cake Debate Giveaway for your chance to win a Mardi Gras Prize Package.

From February 2 through February 5, 2026, Louisiana residents age 21 and older can enter by jumping into the conversation on Facebook and sharing their Mardi Gras favorites.

How to Enter

Starting Monday, February 2, 2026, visit the Louisiana Lottery’s designated Facebook post and enter by commenting with:

• Your favorite king cake flavor
• Your favorite Mardi Gras instant game
• And tag a parade pal you’d take with you to celebrate

That’s it. You’re entered!

Important Details

• The promotion runs February 2 – February 5, 2026.
• Entries must be submitted only through the designated Louisiana Lottery Facebook post.
• Only one entry per person is allowed.
• No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
• Entries submitted in person, by mail, or by any other method will not be accepted.
• Inappropriate or offensive comments will be deleted and will not be considered valid entries.

Contest Description
Louisiana residents who are at least 21 years of age are invited to enter the Louisiana Lottery’s Great King Cake Debate Giveaway for a chance to win a Mardi Gras Prize Package. 

How to Enter
Beginning Monday, February 2, 2026, eligible participants are invited to comment on the Louisiana Lottery’s designated Facebook post by: 

1. Telling us their favorite king cake flavor 
2. Sharing their favorite Mardi Gras instant game 
3. Tagging a parade pal 

Entries must be submitted electronically via the designated Facebook post. 

No entries will be accepted in person, by mail, or through any other method. Only one entry per person is allowed. No purchase is necessary to submit an entry for the promotion. 

Inappropriate or offensive comments will be deleted and not considered as entries.

Winner Selection & Notification
Ten (10) winners will be randomly selected from the field of entries on February 6, 2026. 

Winners will be notified via Facebook DM (Messenger) from the account the winner used to comment on the post. 

The winners have three (3) business days after any form of attempted communication by the Lottery to verify their eligibility status or their prize will be forfeited. The Lottery may, at its discretion, assign an alternate winner in those cases. 

Winners must provide a valid shipping address to receive the prize package. The king cake and merchandise items will be shipped separately. 

Any winner names and photos may be posted and used for advertising the Louisiana Lottery’s Mardi Gras promotions on the Lottery’s social media accounts. 

Publicity
Entrants grant permission to the Lottery to have their name and social media handle included in the Lottery’s publicity efforts. Entrants also agree to be recognized publicly on the Lottery’s Facebook page. 

Eligibility
This promotion is open to Louisiana residents at least 21 years of age. Residency and age will be verified. The following individuals are excluded from participating in Louisiana Lottery promotions: 

• Any member of the Board of Directors, officer or employee of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation. 
• Any spouse, child, brother, sister or parent residing in the same household of any Louisiana Lottery employee, officer or member of the Board of Directors. 
• Any employee of any company or vendor awarded a contract or subcontract to conduct business with, assigned to perform services for, or provide goods to the Louisiana Lottery for any duration in the 2026 calendar year, including but not limited to advertising agencies, gaming system vendors, printers, auditors, promotional product suppliers, etc. 
• Any spouse, child, brother, sister or parent residing in the same household of any such vendor or contractor. 

Any person who falls into one of the categories listed above or who does not meet the age and residency requirements will be deemed ineligible to participate. 

Acknowledgments
All contest entrants agree to comply with these rules and accept the Lottery’s interpretation of them in executing the contest. 

In addition, entrants agree to participate in the Lottery’s publicity efforts in conjunction with this contest, including but not limited to photo publication, press releases, interviews and media coverage. 

Entrants also acknowledge that in matters of administering the contest, the decisions of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation are binding and final. 

All participants entering this contest agree to grant the Louisiana Lottery royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive rights to display, distribute, reproduce, modify and create derivative works of the entries for any purpose—trade, advertising, promotional or otherwise—and in any electronic, print or other media (now existing or subsequently developed) the Lottery chooses, now or at any time in the future, should their entry be selected as a contest winner. 

The Louisiana Lottery will not be required to pay any additional costs or seek additional approval in connection with such uses. Once submitted, all entries become the property of the Louisiana Lottery.

The Louisiana Lottery is solely responsible for conducting and administering this contest. The Louisiana Lottery shall have no responsibility or liability for any actual or claimed harm that may arise due to promotional materials or prizes, including usage or consumption of prizes. Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Facebook, Rouses Enterprises, and the Louisiana Lottery Corporation and its promotional partners. 

The Louisiana Lottery is not responsible or liable for any error, omission, or any technical problem related to its promotions, including but not limited to entries and submissions, website problems, application problems, Internet problems, or problems with a participant’s computer. 

If for some reason the promotion is not capable of running as originally planned, the Lottery has the right to modify, suspend, or cancel all or any portion of the promotion. 

Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and their affiliates, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, representatives, and employees have not sponsored, endorsed, or administered this promotion and are not associated with it in any way.
