Mansfield Resident Claims $17,000 Top Prize from Pot of Gold

Johnnie Faye Jones of Mansfield has a reason to smile after claiming the final $17,000 top prize from the Louisiana Lottery's Pot of Gold scratch-off game.

Jones purchased her top-prize winning ticket at The Party Shop on Highway 84 West in Mansfield.  She shared that she plans to use her winnings to pay bills.

Pot of Gold is a $2 scratch-off game that offers the chance to win up to 10 times on each ticket. The game closed on July 2 after all top prizes from the game were claimed.  Players have until Oct. 30 to claim any outstanding prizes from Pot of Gold.

Persons must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a Lottery ticket.  Anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem are encouraged to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867. For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchasing.
