BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Lottery players took home millions in prizes this summer, with July highlighted by two $500,000 wins on the 100X scratch-off game and a $2 million Powerball ticket. Overall winnings in July and August held steady compared to recent months.
In July, the Lottery reported over $18 million in cash prizes paid to scratch-off game players, including two $500,000 top prize 100X tickets sold in Ruston and Alexandria. In addition, players won over $9.8 million during drawings held in July, including one Powerball Match-5 with Power Play ticket worth $2 million. Fast Play players took home nearly $900,000 in July.

Powerball prizes totaled $347,156 with an additional $2,245,966 won by players who purchased the Power Play option — bringing July’s Powerball winnings to $2,910,952. The $1 Power Play option offers Powerball players the chance to increase any non-jackpot winnings. Mega Millions drawings held in July produced $408,002 in winnings.
There were 68 match-5 Lotto prizes won totaling $68,000, helping to bring Lotto’s monthly total winnings to $364,223. Easy 5 prizes totaled $118,330, with an additional $82,199 won on ezmatch™, an instant-win option available for an additional $1.
In all, draw-style game winnings from July drawings reached $9,835,121. Lottery draw-style game players have 180 days from the drawing date to claim prizes.

In August, over $16 million in scratch-off cash prizes were paid out, including one $500,000 top prize Casino Cash ticket sold in Lafayette. Draw-game players took home over $7.8 million, and Fast Play players won over $900,000.
Powerball prizes totaled $663,561 with an additional $669,322 won by players who purchased the Power Play option — bringing August’s Powerball winnings to $1,362,883; with Mega Millions following behind at $553,340.
Though there were no jackpot or match-5 prizes won from the national draw games, the in-state draw games shined. There were 81 match-5 Lotto prizes in August, totaling $81,000, bringing its monthly total winnings to $428,406. Easy 5 prizes totaled $361,628, thanks to two jackpot-winning tickets being sold, with an additional $87,147 won on ezmatch™.

According to Lottery policy, scratch-off games are closed when all top prizes are claimed.
