LOUISIANA LOTTERY REPORTS JANUARY WINNINGS

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana scratch-off players took home over $19 million in cash prizes in January, driven in part by three $500,000 top-prize-winning scratch-offs, including one $500,000 Extreme Cash ticket and two Casino Cash tickets sold in Lake Charles, Ruston, and Pineville, respectively. The Louisiana Lottery also reported nearly $9 million in winnings from January drawings, including two Lotto jackpot wins and one Easy 5 jackpot win. Finally, Fast Play players also took home just over $800,000 last month.

The Lottery’s daily game winnings held steady during the month of January.

January Mega Millions drawings produced $480,644 in winnings.

The Lotto jackpot was hit twice during the month of January, with a $775,000 winning ticket being sold in Franklinton and a $550,000 winning ticket being sold in Winnsboro. Lotto’s monthly total winnings were $1,635,451.

One Easy 5 ticket sold in Shreveport won the $100,000 jackpot in January, bringing total prizes to $276,090, with $80,317 of that total being won on ezmatch™, an instant-win option available for an additional $1.

In total, draw-style game winnings from drawings held in January totaled $8,959,700. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the winnings from those tickets.

The Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing and check them promptly after each drawing. Even if a ticket does not win the jackpot, it could have won another prize.

Scratch-Off and Fast Play Prizes
In addition to the $19,372,094 in scratch-off cash prizes paid during January, players also claimed $1,874,036 in free-ticket prizes.
