Lotto Jackpot Winner Heading to Disney World

Excitement spread over the Sifuentes household Thursday morning as Suzette Silva Sifuentes sat on the floor with the newspaper spread out next to her Lotto ticket.  That's where she discovered she held the $425,000 Lotto jackpot-winning ticket from the June 16 drawing. 
 
"I kept dreaming about the numbers all night so I checked them first thing in the morning," recalled the 39 year-old Avondale resident.  "I screamed and called for my son to come check the numbers again for me. After he looked over them three or four times, we decided to check the numbers on the Lottery's website and saw that the winning ticket was purchased in Harahan." 

Sifuentes said she plans to pay off her house note and take her family of five to Disney World for a "much needed vacation."

She received $297,500 after state and federal income taxes were withheld. Sifuentes said that she purchases "quick pick" Powerball, Lotto and Easy 5 tickets every Wednesday and Saturday. The winning ticket was purchased at Murphy USA #6716 on Jefferson Highway in Harahan. The retailer will receive a one-time selling bonus of $4,250, or 1 percent of the jackpot.

The winning numbers for the June 16 Lotto drawing were 1-3-5-7-25-27.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.  Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing.  Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.  For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
