Hudson, who serves as the Lottery's senior vice president of human resources and legislative affairs, will temporarily fill the position vacated by President Randy Davis.
Davis recently tendered his resignation to the board in order to pursue an opportunity in the private sector with Future System Advisors, LLC, a Baton Rouge-based development firm of wealth management systems and life insurance product design concepts.
"While we're truly going to miss Randy's leadership, we're confident that Rose will continue to carry out the Lottery's mission with the same unquestionable degree of integrity and public trust that has been a hallmark of the Lottery's operations," said Board Chairman Carl Bauer.
Hudson holds a masters degree in public administration and a Senior Professional in Human Resources designation. She has served as senior vice president for six years.
Bauer said the board will discuss the process of selecting a permanent replacement at its next regular meeting. Once a selection has been made, the appointment is subject to confirmation by the Governor.
During Davis' nearly 10 years of service as president, the Louisiana Lottery earned a rank as the 4th most efficient lottery in the nation and is 1st among lotteries of its size in terms of percentage of revenue transferred to its government. For the past eight years, the Lottery has received national recognition for excellence in financial reporting. During Davis' tenure, the Lottery has exceeded revenue projections and has transferred an average of $108 million annually to the state.
