Livingston Man Wins Big while Back-To-School Shopping

When James Jones of Livingston went back-to-school shopping on Wednesday, July 23 for his family, he decided to bring along a free-ticket-winning scratch-off that his wife had yet to claim the prize on.  

The scratch-off James initially wanted for his free ticket prize was unavailable, so he picked a different one. To his dismay, the second ticket he wanted was also unavailable. For his third and final choice, he selected the $2 Strike It Rich scratch-off—and strike it rich, he did! 

After scratching the ticket, he couldn’t believe his eyes: it revealed he’d won the $15,000 top prize. Unconvinced, James asked the cashier at Suma Quick Stop in Livingston to scan the ticket to confirm. After scanning, he was informed that he’d need to go to a Lottery office to claim his prize, as he was now, in fact, $15,000 richer. 

Just thirty minutes after purchasing the ticket, he received his $15,000 check at Lottery headquarters on July 23, along with his “big” publicity check. 

“I feel this is God paying us back for the good we’ve done,” he said.
