Franklin Woman Claims $30,000 Top Prize from Bonus Crossword Scratch-off

Dawn Lewis of Franklin has her sister to thank for giving her a $30,000 top-prize winning Bonus Crossword scratch-off, which she claimed at the Louisiana Lottery's Lafayette office.

"My sister plays Bonus Crossword and she bought one for me," said Lewis, age 27. "I can't believe I won!"

Lewis said she plans to use her winnings to buy a home. Her winning scratch-off was purchased at Friends #4 on Main Street in Franklin.

Bonus Crossword is a $3 scratch-off game that offers players the chance to win up to $30,000. With over $1.5 million in cash prizes, the game has two remaining top prizes as of Jan. 20. 

Players must be at least 21 years old to purchase a Lottery ticket.  The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.

For security purposes, the Lottery also encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
