DeRidder Resident Claims $10,000 Prize from the Aug. 25 Powerball Drawing

Delia V. Blanco of DeRidder claimed $10,000 at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's Alexandria office as a result of a winning Powerball ticket from the Aug. 25 drawing.

"I didn't check my numbers until Sunday morning," said Blanco, age 58.  "I was so nervous!  I just wanted to run to the store to see if I had really won."  Blanco's ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers plus the red Powerball number to win her prize.

She purchased her winning ticket at Ultra Mart #2 on E. Fourth Street in DeRidder. The winning numbers for the Aug. 25 Powerball drawing were 2-8-23-29-35 and the Powerball number was 19.  Louisiana Lottery players, like Blanco, won a total of more than $2 million from that drawing.
