Breaux Bridge Man Wins $200,000 on Louisiana Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket

Lafayette native and Breaux Bridge resident James Faulk could not believe his eyes when he played his Diamond 10’s scratch-off ticket from the Louisiana Lottery, and it revealed he won $200,000!  

“The most I’ve won before this was about $500,” he said.

Faulk purchased his winning ticket and one other scratch-off from Murphy USA #7509 in Breaux Bridge during his lunch break. He scratched the first ticket, which was not a winner, so he didn’t get his hopes up when playing the next one. 

“I was shocked!” exclaimed Faulk after the top-prize amount displayed on his second scratch-off ticket. 

Faulk said his immediate plans for his winnings are to purchase a home. 

“We were in the process of financing a house, but now we don’t have to!” he said. “I’m happy about our new home.” 

Faulk shared that any remaining cash from his winnings will go towards “spoiling his adorable children and savings for a rainy day.”
